We are now in Mazatlan

We are now in Mazatlan, at least for a while. We had breakfast at the truck stop before hitting the road at 8:00. Got to Mazatlan at 12:15 – 246 miles of mostly good road and some terrible road and some road under construction. All to the tune of 1086 pesos in tolls – around $72! We get charged for an auto, the jeep and an autobus, the Alfa. At least the tolls hadn’t gone up since last time we went through them.
We are all set up in the back section of Las Jaibas. But this year we are not back here alone. There is a French Canadian caravan of 7 or 8 RVs back here with us. Right now they are all gathered together playing a game.
The day all day was overcast so not quite so warm, but pretty humid. Even here in Mazatlan. First thing we did was – no not eat ribs – go to get the Jeep washed. While it was being washed we went to the Plazuela Machado and had lunch. So Fat Fish and ribs will wait until tomorrow night.
Can’t pick up the park’s WiFi so will be using TelCel which will limit my on line time somewhat.
There seems to be more tourists around than there have been the last few years. And there are quite a few RVs in the park. All of that is good for the city.
Wednesday will be an errand day – laundry to the laundromat, grocery store and of course going out to dinner.

  1. Glad you arrived safe and sound! Wow! That's busy - too bad for you guys though - nice to have a little more space to yourselves. Enjoy the ribs Bill!
