Yesterday morning as has become our habit we went across the street to the beautiful Torres timeshare for breakfast on the beach. On Sunday's there is a saxophone player there. So nice and relaxing. Good food, good attention, beautiful view and soothing music. But you know what? I'm kind of getting homesick. Not for the snow and nasty weather that is for sure, but just for home and all it brings. Mostly stupid things: TV, English spoken, good bacon, and all other things familiar. Silly huh?
Hadn't taken these pictures out of the camera when I wrote about going to Christy's in the marina for dinner. Met another 15th birthday girl and her attendants. The girls all dressed up.
The birthday girl and her male attendants. It really is quite a celebration! I think they were hoping for a prettier sunset for these pictures...
Didn't do much during the day. I've been remiss this year and haven't touched any of my hobbies I so carefully put together and brought with us. No knitting and no beading. Just lots and lots of reading.
Last night we went to the Plazuela Machado for dinner and music. Ron and Janet went with us as it was there last day here. Turned out to be a lot of fun. Again good food, not so good attention - a new waiter working along..., great people watching and good music. Rafael Rodriguez playing. Lots of people dancing. Picture is blurry cause they were all shaking it up.
Temperature was about 77 - great evening to be outside. Got home about 9:30 and by then it had cooled down inside the Alfa for a good nights sleep.
Lots of RVs pulling in for one night here in the park. Everyone is starting the long trek up north. We've heard that part of the highway north is in terrible shape - 10 mph max speed horrid. We hope people were just over reacting. Either way not looking forward to it.
This morning we went with Ron and Janet across the street for breakfast. When we got back they finished loading up and got on the road north. This afternoon we should get company - our friend John from Aticama should stop here on his way north. Then we'll all go out for RIBS at Fat Fish.
We got a new cell phone not too long before we left home. Never set up a twitter account on it but continually get tweets from all kinds of strangers saying they are following. Following what? Our data is shut off and very few people even know the number. Sure is a pain in the neck, especially when it is midnight when it dings! First stop in US will be Verizon - to figure that out and to see why our tablet quit working.
Listening to music from Bill's computer. Lots of Harry Belefante songs, forgot what a nice voice he had. Music from the 50s and 60s.
Hank Williams Sr, House of Blue Lights, Time in a Bottle...lots of memories.
A picture of the handyman in the campground up on the roof of the Alfa patching one of the vent covers that had a run in with a tree. Duck tape and gorilla glue. One more thing to do when we get home.
That's about it.
