Glorious Day of Autumn in Brown County

Friday p.m.

Another beautiful day today. Temperatures are perfect.

This is the view from our back porch looking across the valley. Can see a few of our fish in the pond.

This is the tourist trolley in town. Lots of pretty trees there and lots and lots of tourists.

Just another picture from down town. The Artists Colony is an Inn and a restaurant.

Just outside of town on the way to Bloomington is this old barn. It got a new paint job this year. The little outhouse in front of it is about on it's last legs. A strong wind and it will be gone.

The view from the highway just west of the barn. Everyday it gets more and more colorful.

This small barn is just down the highway a ways. One of the few "Quilt" barns in this area.

And this one I love - but can never get a really good picture of it cause of the stuff parked out front. There is another Mail Pouch barn east of town but we can only see it in winter when the trees have lost their leaves.

Just got a call from the RV doc - Alfie will be ready to come home on Monday. Then the fun begins. Don't know when we'll be getting out of here but won't be too long from now. 

Indian Summer is Here.

Thursday afternoon

Our weather is absolutely beautiful here. I think it is too early in the year to call it Indian Summer but it sure is nice. Little breeze and in the low 80s. And the trees are getting soooo pretty! Everyday more and more of them are yellow, orange and red.
Yesterday we had doctor appointments to get screened for aorta aneurisms. Did you know they can do that now – great preventative medicine. Neither of us have any sign of any problems. Also got the rest of the meds straightened out for the winter trip.
I worked most of this morning on the new web site for the leather masks and Wind Spirits. Fantasy Manor Art Studio. I thought I had it almost up to date then “the artist” (same guy as the driver) decided to change the way he was displaying a whole bunch of items so had to take new pictures and exchange them with the ones I’d already published. Good thing I got my hair cut short or I’d be pulling it all out.
Alfie should be finished by Tuesday at the latest – tomorrow at the earliest. Then we bring him home and start loading up and really making travel plans. Every day I try to get a few things done – or put in a “take out to Alfie pile.”

Trying to Catch Up

This is kind of a rehash back to when we were without Internet. So ignore a lot of it.
Old news.  (If this is being updated it is because we are either at McDonalds or Bob Evans as we have no Internet at home. It went out Friday and we still haven’t heard from the repair technician that Hughes.Net is making us use. They have the worst Customer Service in the world – Kind of a “we’ve all you got so take it or leave it” kind of service. And of course out here in the boondocks there is only one service person around. Our dish has quit transmitting! Goody Goody. )
Friday a.m.
(Even older news)Yesterday - last Thursday - evening we had a big drop in temperatures and lots of wind and some rain. This morning it is cloudy and cool. By tomorrow morning there might be frost.
Clouds must be so thick that the satellite internet doesn’t work (anyway I hope that’s the problem)– As you can see that wasn’t the problem. Maybe someday this area will get into the 21st century and be able to get DSL or Cable – Yah sure….They can’t even figure out who downtown belongs to.
Last time we went to the Alfa I remembered to pick up the Wireless Network Adaptor for the PC – And it won’t work – is not compatible with Windows 7 – can’t even find a driver for it on line. So guess we’ll have to get an updated one for The Drivers new PC in Alfie.
Yesterday  - More old news - RV doc called and said they were about to make Alfie a convertible so if there was anything else we wanted out of him we had to get it right away. Sure hope there isn’t. Also got another check from Progressive Insurance to cover the torn up cover. Cannot believe how quickly they took care of things.
Yesterday was not a good day for The Driver – he spent most of it in bed. While he was up though he was productive. Built a beautiful walnut magazine rack and a glasses holder for Alfie.

We went over to see Alfie – here’s a couple of pictures of the roof and awning removal.

Have had a real cold snap here – frost even but today – Monday – it is supposed to start A warming trend up to the mid 80s again. The cold has really started the trees to change color. Getting really pretty here and bringing in the tourists.

Internet Up and Running Now

Just a very short and quick post.  We've been without Internet since Friday. Finally just got it repaired. I'm begining to wonder if going on line is worth the agravation and the expense. Closest service man was 65 miles away. Had to have a new part on the dish and of course it was out of warrenty. GRRRRR...
Will update tomorrow sometime. Including pictures of Alfie without his roof.
