In Albuquerque, NM for a couple days

Monday afternoon
Hello from Albuquerque, New Mexico. We went out for breakfast in Tucumcari at the Kix on 66 Café – very good breakfast, lots of food and inexpensive. Good service. Had Bill stop so I could take a picture of another mural. This one is interesting – wonder if the eyes belong to people in the town.
Then we packed up and took off around 9:15.
The other day when we first got to Tucumcari and were looking for a different RV park we checked out one that was only $15 a day. Full hookups. Didn’t stay there cause it was too “just desert” but while checking it out we noticed the laundry room. The washer and dryer were sitting right out on the ground in the middle of the park. What ever works I guess. Here they are.

Not much in the way of scenery again today. Lots and lots of desert and straight road. The only time there was anything to see was just before the roadside “souvenir” shops/travel centers. Talk about over kill with the billboards.
Road was good but windy again. Weather is warm. Nice.
Can you imagine how boring it must be to drive one of those pilot trucks for an oversize load. Especially on a straight wide road through the desert.
Did less than 200 miles today and will stay here tonight and tomorrow. We’ve been through here several times but haven’t stopped before. Not sure how we’ll do in the altitude but we’ll just take it easy.
We’re at the EnchantedTrails campground just west of the city. (Thanks to one of the laides on the Womens RV forum who happened to mention it the other day.) It is a Passport America member – so price is okay. Stanley - the satellite – went up and locked on fine. Why do I always expect him to give us problems?
Will post later again about the short trip we took yesterday evening to the little town of Montoya.
