Time flies when you're busy

Tuesday already - today we are doing almost nothing. Well except for laundry and unpacking a couple of small boxes. Believe it or not we've got most of the stuff put away. We are both tired. Have done too much in the last four months. Time to rest. In fact this morning we both slept in until about 7:30. Miss today's sunrise. This was Sunday - I think. 

The night before I stayed up late reading and heard yipping and howling coming from the Wetlands in back of us. Coyotes? Didn't sound like dogs. And already the raccoons have been in our trash when we forgot and put it out at night. Bunnies are all around all the time. 

The extra bedroom that I'll be using as a sewing room [and guest room] just some of the boxes in it. That is the damaged sewing machine cabinet laying on it's side in front of the window. 

Spent most of yesterday working in there - unpacking, checking what was in boxes and putting boxes in closet until we get some shelving for organizing all my sewing and bead stuff. Think I'll hang the small quilts on the wall.

Sunday getting ready to watch the NASCAR race. I know I'm nuts. What a LONG race - four and one half hours! That translates to two and one half hours of commercials - if not more! At least the M&M #18 cinched his Chase chance. 

We did get some shelving for the computer room closet so it is kind of organized now. And a dresser to put the TV on in the sewing room - and I'll be able to use the storage. And Bill got a big desk unit so he can work on his hobbies. They will be delivered tomorrow.

I think there are still some things that we haven't found yet. Just little things that were probably stuck in some box last minute. I imagine it will take a while before everything is looked through.  

A great couple of days.

Where to begin - so much has happened in a few short days. First off took my last antibiotic yesterday and already feel half human today. Which is a good thing 'cause we have lots and lots to do. And the weather has cooled down - only in mid to high 90's this week with lows at night in the low 70's. 
But to our news. On Thursday we heard a commotion outside and low and behold there was our shed on a trailer and a crane to lift it over the house. Oh My!They'd been promising us the shed ever since we moved in. It was kind of becoming a joke when we'd get it. It is a nice size Tuff Shed so worth waiting for. - No charge. Putting the straps around it to lift it. 

 Up it comes. Breath holding time. 

 Don't drop it now!

 Kind of a tight squeeze to get it settled between garage and patio and helpful tree.  Touched patio roof once but just barely. And of course the wind was blowing. And the door was facing the wrong way - so back up it had to go and be turned around. 

 Everything in right position, put it down. 

Settled on the ground. It is a different color than the house but we do have house paint left if we get ambitious. They got it all leveled and it is great. Then they came inside and put the rest of the knobbies on the cupboards. Wow - Thursday - a great day. 

So we spent part of the rest of the day moving things out of the house into the shed. All the Christmas boxes now have a home as do some empty containers and suitcases. And they barely filled a small part of the shed. We can put so much more in there - as soon as we find it. 
I mentioned that "maybe" we'd get the rest of our furniture on Sunday. The driver wasn't sure but thought he'd make it here then. 
Friday morning about 10:00 we got as call from the driver. I thought Oh Oh - delay. He started out with - " I estimated my route wrong." Oh No! I thought. "I can delivery your goods right now if you want, or I can deliver them Monday." "Right now?" I replied. "Yes or not until Monday."  "Right now is fine." 
"Good, I'll call you when I'm closer."  In about 30 minutes he called from the gate! By 2:00 everything was unloaded and he was gone. Wow sure didn't plan on that. He did not ask us for any more money - showed us the "Paid in Full" receipt he had. Only one thing in the whole move [both loads] was damaged and it is my sewing machine cabinet...Bill says he can fix it with no problem. And a couple of glasses, a plate, a ceramic bowl and a couple of pictures with cracked glass. Much better experience then we anticipated. So here we are again with rooms full of boxes full of stuff we don't know where to put.
But we do now have a real bed - up off the floor.

Time to get busy and start sorting through a few things. Especially if I want to watch NASCAR later. 

Busy four months

4 months ago today we returned to Indiana after wintering in Mexico. Wow - so much has changed since then.

I was looking back through the blog and it was less than a week after returning there that we knew for sure we had to leave the area. Bill’s allergies were back in full bloom making it hard for him to even walk around the house. Check out the link. 

Talked to the mover again today, he says he thinks he will be here on Sunday with the rest of our furniture. So next week we’ll be real busy. Looking forward to it but dreading it too. Be nice to have all our “stuff.”

Today most of the knobs in the kitchen got put on - they had counted wrong so ran out of knobs - can nothing go right? But the front door screen door is installed.

Tomorrow the electrician comes to check the breaker panel. It will be nice when we can run the lights and the microwave at the same time.

Don’t feel so good again today - last of antibiotics tomorrow - hurray - so don’t feel like writing much. 

Talked to mover - furniture might be here soon

Well we talked to the driver who will deliver the rest of our furniture. The only problem is he is in Chicago and our furniture is still in Indiana. But he says in a day or two he’ll know when he’ll get here. Hopefully by this weekend. And I got an e-mail from the moving company saying in writing that we don’t owe the driver any money when he gets here. I hope they told him that.

It is finally starting to cool down here some. Barely over 100 - well 102- but that’s better than 112. And nights it is getting into the low 80's. By next week it will be high of 99!!! and lows of 74/75. Bill is still going out into the garage every morning to get it set up. He works out there until it gets too hot. But I think he is almost finished. Then what is he going to do? I’m afraid to ask. But by then we should have all our stuff.

Boy the antibiotics I’m taking are messing with me. Making me feel lousy. All I want to do is lay around all day. They best be working.

The contractor guy’s worker is here now putting the knobbies on the kitchen cabinets. And I think he is also supposed to put the screen door on the front. [later - neither job got finished today.]

The cabinet is done and standing in the dining area. 

Probably will move it a couple of times before I decide where I want it.  Looks really nice. Our son came by yesterday and helped Bill stand it up - sure glad he did the thing is very heavy.

It’s 8:00 p.m. and Bill is back out in the garage. 

He says he is trying to get everything done before the rest of the stuff gets here. Also we are supposed to get our shed on Wednesday. Will believe it when I see it.
