Mechanic, Jewelry and Mangos

Put a new header up of the city – I like it better and had no problem with it this time.
The mechanic came early yesterday morning. Willie, the Jeep, got his oil changed and his tail light fixed. But the shifting problem is still a question mark. Checking Willie with his computer.

He is pretty sure it is a sensor but he didn’t have one – will have to find one or order it. So we’ll have to wait to see how that turns out. I guess when the Jeep dealer just reset it it didn’t stay reset for too long.
We went across the street to eat again but this time for lunch. I had a delicious spinach salad with strawberries and raisins and nuts. Too many nuts but that is just my opinion. Bill had a club sandwich too big to finish. While eating we saw another group – pod? – of dolphins but they were going away from us and too far away to photograph.
While the mechanic was here I was working on a small bracelet to match one of the necklaces I’ve finished. (the red and crystal one) Took about 45 minutes to finish it. But kind of pretty. In fact it was so easy I made another one using the larger clear crystals as the center stone instead of the smaller red ones. They are fun to make and super easy. 

Here’s the necklace I just finished – picture doesn’t do it justice especially with the red background. I'm going to be busy after we get home adding all this stuff to the jewelry web site. And retaking a lot of pictures so they look better.

All the mango trees here are blooming like crazy. The groundskeeper was telling us that when they ripen all at once there are just too many to eat. It is like it is raining mangos as they fall off the trees. And this is one of the smaller trees here. 

Each of the little buds on the flower produces a mango……

We still get the “ Aren't you afraid to be in Mexico?” question. No we aren't but maybe we should be afraid to return to the states. Saw this article – 91 gun deaths in one 3-day weekend in the US in January. A couple were accidents and some suicides but the rest were murders. 91! Today is kind of cloudy again and windy - So all we've done is go to the grocery store. But I do have a story about that. We were standing in line behind one customer with another man behind us. The cashier finished ringing up the man in front of us. He paid in cash - she, the cashier, didn't have enough change in her drawer to complete his transaction. She looked around for a supervisor to bring her change. Then she asked if anyone in line had change.....The man behind us handed her a 50 Peso note. She gave it to the man she owed it to. He took his change and left. Then she rang up our groceries. I guess the man behind us now had a 50 Peso credit. Can you see that happening in the states. The computers would go nuts. 
Today is the last day of Carnaval - one more big parade tonight then it's over. And by tomorrow morning the city will have returned to normal. 
When I was talking about traffic here in Mazatlan I didn't mention the pedestrians. By law they DO NOT have the right of way as they do in the states. BUT if you are standing on the curb even looking like you might be thinking of crossing the street the cars and buses and taxis will stop and motion for you go. Whether you are at a corner or in the middle of the block. Also the drivers are more apt to let you in line in front of them if the street suddenly narrows down.
