Nook problem solved, MiFi working fine Still cold out

I solved my Nook problem – guess it was just a DUH moment. All I had to do was connect the Nook to the Internet and go to My Library and all three books downloaded right away. Forgot I don’t need to go through the laptop when in the US.

Now I’ve got news that the MiFi is easy to hack into and run up usage. Lovely. If it isn’t one thing its another. So guess I’ll have to do some changing of things with it.
Boy was that a mistake. It looked easy – just go there – do that – apply – and it’s done. Ha – no it wasn’t – couldn’t get on line.  Ended up resetting the MiFi but still wanted it changed. So up the freeway to the Verizon store. The guy we bought it from must have been expecting us old folks back ‘cause he opened the door for us smiling. He went on line made all the changes – we were set. Except when we got back to Alfie and tried to go on-line - no go! Couldn’t even connect to it. GRRRRRRRRRRRR…..It was my fault as I asked him to name the connection the same name the satellite connection was. So the laptop got confused. After 20 minutes on the phone with Tech Support all is working well. We are working fine now. But in the middle of the night in a “oh crap” moment it dawned on me that my PC at home isn’t set up for wireless….You know I think I’ll just go back to paper and pencil. How did I get so far behind in new technology?  [Still can’t answer our cell phone half the time.]
Back to my PC at home – will have to just buy an adapter for it. Working on the web pages and with slide shows I prefer using the bigger screen and comfortable keyboard of the PC.
It is freaking cold here – I think I see ice outside on the puddles. Today there is still 80% chance of rain and only going to 50. Got an email from our friend Tom from Indiana – he says it was 84 there yesterday. But I see that by next week – about when we will be getting home it will be back down into the 60s. They are getting an awful lot of rain though. So we should have a bumper crop of weeds when we get there. We will have a lot of work to do around there this summer – didn’t get anything done last summer. Years ago I said that when I retired I was going to get a one bedroom condo and a plastic geranium and that was it.  How did that plan go so astray? A three story house and five acres of land….My mind enjoys it but the body is sometimes not so happy about it. Especially after a winter in the RV – then having to get used to all those stairs again. Huff puff for a week or so.
I looked out the back window towards the rising sun and there is blue sky. Looking out the front window the sky is full of black rolling clouds.
Been checking maps and RV parks and kind of planning our trip east. Everytime we travel we say we will just go around 150 miles a day – never happens. Anyway I’m finding stops about 150 to 200 miles apart. We’ll see.
The back is better today. Walked around some yesterday at WalMart – it feels better walking then sitting - and kept the heating pad on it while home. Along with the Advil.
No plans for today.
