Kind of a boring day yesterday.

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day – Will have to have the corned beef and cabbage when we get home.
Yesterday started out as a beautiful day. But ended up very foggy. We drove over to the central district to pick up Bill’s sun glasses and check out things in the Central Market for one last time. One our way to the parking lot we saw these priests in full frock. Don’t even see it much here any more.
While Bill was getting his glasses I was studying the floor tile. It is basically the same as what I was talking about in Malpica. See how the design has worn off from use in the middle of the store.
While walking to the market we passed this little shop that sells dress up costumes for little kids. They are so cute and colorful I couldn’t resist taking a picture of them.
And waiting in front of the Cathedral was this Pulmonia all decked out for a bride and groom. Cute. The wedding party was still in the Cathedral.
Once at the market I of course had to look at blouses again – and got one. Very pretty – black with yellow embroidery. And then we stood around and listened to this man singing. His music was provided by a big red boom box carried on his shoulder.
The video gets a little weird in the middle - I forgot I was filming I guess.

A couple of weeks ago I took a picture of a tree with bright red leaves. Mentioned I didn't know what it was. I’ve since found out it is an almond tree. If you look closely you’ll see some of the almonds starting to form.
On the way home driving down the Malecón I happened to look out to sea and wondered “Where did the islands go?” could just see the very top of one above a fog bank.
As we continued to drive north the fog continued to move in. Until we could only see a little ways in front of us. Believe it or not there is a high rise in this picture – just above that white arch.
Amazing how fast it moved in and dense it was.
After making a stop at WalMart we came home and watched the fog come in and go out and then return for the rest of the evening.
This weekend is a holiday weekend here in Mexico the celebration of Benito Juarez birthday - and like the U.S. they've moved his birthday to a Monday so there is a three day weekend. Last night there were fireworks displays all up and down the beach. From our window I saw a real nice display. Really pretty ones. And heard several others.
Like the NASCAR race yesterday. Kyle won - he's won 2 out of the 4 in the Nationwide this year. And today in the Cup car he came in 2nd. Hope his year keeps improving.
I know this is kind of a nothing blog today but my writing muse seems to be on strike. Didn't even feel like doing this much.
Oh well tomorrow is another day and tonight we are going to the Plazuela Machado again. Always something going on there.

  1. Weather has been absolutely gorgeous here since last Monday. Spring is in the air.
We're saving our corned beef until home as well since we have a BBQ we are planning on making use of it!!

  2. I would have loved to have seen the fog while we were there. I love fog. Reminds me of growing up in Oregon. It is finally starting to smack of Spring a little here in Alaska. It was bright and sunny today, though still about 28 degrees. I wore my shorts while running errands anyway!

  3. Beautiful springlike weather here in Vancouver bc. But still chilly.
BTW, none of your posts are boring!
